COFREND – Computed Tomography Working Group

Exploring AI, battery inspection, and autonomous defect detection at the COFREND CT Working Group.

Industrial computed tomography provides a detailed view inside complex components. Modern image processing helps turn that data into useful inspection results, making structures easier to interpret and defects easier to identify.

At an upcoming meeting of the COFREND Computed Tomography Working Group (Commission Tomographie), Sven Gondrom-Linke will present “Modern Image Processing in Computed Tomography.”

The presentation will explore:

  • Battery inspection: Using CT image analysis to examine complex internal structures and identify potential defects.

  • Autonomous defect detection: Moving towards more automated inspection workflows that reduce reliance on manual review.

  • Artificial intelligence: Applying AI to support the interpretation and analysis of volumetric image data.

The presentation will connect these developments with practical industrial inspection challenges, contributing to the working group’s exchange of technical knowledge and experience in CT and non-destructive testing.
